Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in Hispanic-American men, and the second-leading cause of cancer death in Hispanic-American women. According to the National Cancer Institute in 2010, almost 13 percent of Hispanics were current cigarette smokers, compared to 21 percent of non-Hispanic whites. Smoking rates are higher among Hispanic high school students (18 percent) than Hispanic adults. This is alarming because this trend will be higher for future Hispanic-American generations if they chose to smoke cigarettes. Family, work and financial stress, family influence such as parents or siblings who smoke can be the cause for a person to smoke cigarettes. Social settings can also be a motive. This is especially true for younger adults (this explains the alarming future trend).

Smoking causes a list of illnesses that can impair each organ of the body and can weaken an individual’s overall health, especially the respiratory system. This includes: bronchitis, cancer of the larynx (voice box), cancer of the pharynx (throat), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, lung cancer, as well as a host of other complications.

Another alarming insight is secondhand smoking. Non-smokers who breathe in secondhand smoke inhale toxic chemicals such as nicotine. If you know of someone such as a spouse, roommate, relative, or co-worker who you have contact with every day while they are smoking you can increase your chance of getting cancer by 30%.

Now, take a deep breath in, hold it for 5 seconds, and exhale. Relaxing, isn’t it? This process (breathing) is done by our respiratory system. The respiratory system includes the nose, throat, voice box, windpipe, and lungs. Without this method we wouldn’t live. Smoking cigarettes will damage this meaningful practice and that is why I encourage you to try Natura-Genics'® Opti-Pulmo which contains a fine herbal quality blend of mullein, thyme, fennel, echinacea purpurea, garlic, and other herbal ingredients. These properties are known to reduce respiratory system deterioration, disease, and reduce infection. You can also combine it with Flemaxil it also contains a blend of herbs not found in Opti-Pulmo, that can help support the respiratory system. Antioxidants such as beta-carotene, vitamin C, and vitamin E are also very important.
