Hispanic Men: Prostate and Lycopene
Posted by Gus on 1/26/2014 to • Men's Health

The prostate is a gland located between the bladder and urethra.

Its function is to secrete fluid that nourishes and protects sperm.

As men age, the prostate may encounter complications such as:

Prostatitis (swelling and inflammation), benign prostate hyperplasia

(enlarged prostate), and prostate cancer. Other factors that may

cause difficulties are family history, diet (high animal consumption),

and race (Hispanic and Black males at higher risk).

The National Hispanic Family Health Helpline states that after lung

cancer, prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death

among men in the United States. Furthermore, prostate cancer is

the most common cancer among Hispanic men.

Since Hispanic men are at high risk, prevention is vital and

Natura-Genics® Lycopene can assist with prostate care. It is a powerful

antioxidant and is responsible for the red color we see in foods. It aids

as a free radical (cancerous cells) fighting agent. They allow good

nutrients in the cells and discard cellular toxins from entering the cells.

According to the American Cancer Society, some studies have found

that a diet high in lycopene was linked with a lower risk of prostate cancer.

In order to achieve optimum health you have to eat healthy (living foods),

exercise regularly, drink plenty of water, rest, as well as take the

recommended supplements.
