Feverfew is a dietary supplement formulated to support the relief of pain and soreness and to support blood vessel relaxation. Feverfew is available in liquid form from Natura-Genics®.
Feverfew, also known as “medieval aspirin”, is native to western Asia but is now grown all over the world. The name feverfew comes from the Latin word febrifugia, which means “fever reducer”. It contains several active compounds such as flavonoids, volatile oils, and parthenolide.
Benefits of Feverfew
• Supports the Relief of Pain and Soreness
Feverfew contains parthenolide and tanetin, two compounds that help stop the production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are molecules that promote inflammation, which typically causes pain due to the swelling and tissue buildup pressing against nerve endings. The anti-inflammatory properties of feverfew have made it a popular natural remedy for supporting the relief of migraines. Migraines are headaches that usually affect one side of the head and are accompanied by throbbing or pounding pain.
• Supports Blood Vessel Relaxation
Feverfew may support healthy veins due to the component, parthenolide. According to some research, it appears that parthenolide helps stop blood vessels in the brain from widening, also called vasodilation.
